The Nuns Pool Further around the Esplanade between South Cronulla Beach and Shelly Beach is a naturally formed rock pool, known locally as the Nuns Pool. It is said that the nuns from the convent above (now a retirement village) would nip down to bathe and swim here.

Opened in 1932 as a training facility for local lifeguards and offering vistas over Bate Bay, Cronulla Rock Pool lies in the 300 metres of rocky platforms dividing South Cronulla Beach from North Cronulla. A little ways south, Oak Park Beach Baths are located on the Cronulla Esplanade and a great spot to visit with kids.

#27 North and South Cronulla rock pools. We turn right and head south, dodging nippers, life-savers and surf skis, pass Eleoura and North Cronulla SLSCs and onto a pathway to reach our first rock pools. There are two pools side by side - imaginatively named "North" and "South" Cronulla Rock Pool.
